What are Oclean sonic toothbrushes?
Oclean has become increasingly popular over the last few years, thanks to its high-quality electric toothbrushes, water flossers such as the Oclean W10, and other high-tech accessories. Plus, studies have shown that electric toothbrushes do a better job cleaning than manual brushes.
The company itself was originally founded in 2016 in Shenzhen, China. From there, it has grown rapidly and is now well-known globally for its oral hygiene products.
Among Oclean’s electric toothbrush models, there’s something for every budget. Their newest models are affordable, and the price doesn’t go up dramatically with each new installation.
They offer different types of electric toothbrushes based on your needs: the Smart Screen Series, the Ultra Quiet Series and the Classic Series. And, regardless of which one you choose, they have a full range of replacement brush heads in different colours to match each handle colour.

The Oclean X10 comes with:
- Toothbrush handle
- Brush head
- USB charging cable
- Magnetic wall mount
- Instruction manual
The X10 most noticeably different feature from its predecessor is the much larger smart display.
When you are brushing your teeth, you can check the display and it will instantly give you brushing feedback in the form of an emoticon. This toothbrush includes a pressure sensor that will let you know if you are brushing too hard or not hard enough.
As well as real-time feedback, this toothbrush has a smart two-minute timer with quadpacer technology which means it will pause every 30 seconds to let you know when to change areas of your mouth for improved cleaning.
Other features that this sonic toothbrush offers include:
- Emoji images for instant tooth brushing results
- 40,000 RPM motor cleaning power
- 60-day battery life
- Noise reduction tech <45dB
- 5 brushing modes: clean, massage, sensitive, white, polish
- Easy to adjust brushing mode
- USB Type-C charging
Features rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (5/5)
The X10 has an aesthetic and ergonomic design that fits in your hand perfectly. The brush handle itself has a refined texture and includes anti-slip and anti-stain features.
The brush comes in pink, grey and blue with a matching coloured brush head. The colours themselves are muted tones that lend them an elegant touch in any bathroom.
The large display allows for feedback with emoticons such as smiley faces and starts. This may not be for everyone, but it is definitely an engaging way to improve your brushing habits.
Aesthetics rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (4/5)
This toothbrush works as well as any other Oclean sonic toothbrush, with a few improvements. It is very much a toothbrush for those who don’t want to bother with Bluetooth and app connectivity to enhance their brushing experience. But, it makes up for it with a large colour display and instant brushing feedback.
Some might say it has all the features of a high-end sonic toothbrush without you having to worry about the app. The smart timer and pressure sensor work well to let you know how long to brush and how hard, and the display screen gives you instant feedback on your brushing technique allowing you to improve it. In fact, the X10 is the first smart toothbrush to include a supplementary brushing reminder.
The five modes allow you to select different intensities, from a gentle cleaning all the way up to a powerful cleaning action. The toothbrush's quiet motor can run at up to 40,000 rpm which is slightly less than other models. But, thanks to WhisperClean 2.0 technology, the noise level won't exceed 45 dB, so this toothbrush is extremely quiet to use.
Although the X10 is water-resistant, it does not have certification for increased water resistance—it's rated IPX7, which is lower than some competing products' ratings of IPX8 or IPX9.
The brush heads are very good quality and durable, and after trying and testing this toothbrush, we have found that the brush heads last far longer than the recommended use time.
You can fully charge the X10 battery in about 3.5 hours, and it will last for up to 60 days, meaning you can use it for a long time before you need to get the charger back out. It also makes it a handy toothbrush for travelling, as you don’t have to worry about packing the charger at all if you make sure your brush is charged up before you go!
Overall, this toothbrush works very well and can help to improve brushing technique and habits with very obvious emoticons on its large display screen. The brush heads are durable and the battery life is long, making it a good value product. The only complaints are that it may not be as waterproof as competitor products, and it doesn’t have app connectivity.
Performance rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (5/5)
This toothbrush has many features that make it a high-end electric toothbrush, such as a smart display, smart timing and pressure sensors. However, it’s actually quite affordable and great value for money at just £84.99!
It is a little bit more expensive than its predecessor, which is to be expected with the upgrades.

How does the Oclean X10 compare to the Oclean X Pro Elite?
When it comes to the Oclean X10 vs the Oclean X Pro Elite, there are a few key differences. The X10 is the latest model in Oclean's smart series range, but it is not just an upgrade. Oclean has gone in a slightly different direction with this model. In fact, some might say it's the most advanced on the market. Let's jump in and compare them in detail.
The most notable difference is the price, as the X10 is slightly more expensive than the X Pro Elite. Now, we can assume this is because it is the latest model and some improvements have been made. Let’s take a closer look.
The X10 has no Bluetooth app connectivity. Instead, you get real-time feedback on the large smart display, with emoticons as well as a supplementary brushing plan.
You also have the smart timer with 30-second pauses to indicate when to change areas of the mouth with your brush. This seems to be standard in all of their smart series models.
The motor of the X10 is 40,000 RPM rather than 42,000 RPM like the X Pro Elite. However, the X10 has almost double the battery life at 60 days' worth, and it has one more brushing mode included compared to the X Pro Elite.
The key difference is the large smart display which seems to counteract the need for app connectivity as it's right there on the screen. No need to get your phone involved.
The following table summarises the differences between the Oclean X10 vs other models from Oclean’s smart series range of toothbrushes:
Oclean X Pro Elite

If you are looking for a smart toothbrush, or are keen to upgrade your current one, then the Oclean X10 is a good option. It has all the features you want in a smart toothbrush without the need to connect to your phone and use an app.
If you like using an app for all your oral hygiene needs, then this may not be the toothbrush for you. But, if you think real-time brushing information would be beneficial then consider the Oclean X10. It is the world's first electric toothbrush with supplementary brushing reminders.
Not many people have time in the morning to be checking an app for their brushing habits, so although it sounds like a great idea, it may not be the most practical. Real-time information is much more likely to be seen and utilised in the moment.
Another perk that this sonic toothbrush offers is an increased battery life, which makes it yet again more practical. There’s nothing more annoying than going to brush your teeth in the morning and finding you need to charge your toothbrush!
Overall, we think this toothbrush is one of the most practical smart toothbrushes on the market — it gets a strong recommendation and two thumbs up from our Dentaly.org product testers.
